It remains an open-air museum with its architectural beauties inherited from every period. Architectural heritages of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations are abundant. Why NICEA?
Nicea is the old name of Iznik. Antigonius took over the city in 301 BC and named the city, Nikaia, which was the name of his wife because of the traditions of that period. Over time, the name of the city became Nicea. There are Antiques, Exhibition Areas, Auction Hall, Antique Repair Center and Sahaf in Nicea Auction House.
