FUNCTION: Adaptive Reuse
This project, which is continuing in Bursa Iznik district, was worked in Konak Square 3rd Block as B5 group. At the front of the two-storey building, the add-on was with a one-story building. As a group, we took part in the B5 group, building the add-on and half of the first floor. The process was first done environmental research, on-site measurements were taken and the drawings were transferred to the computer. As a result of the analyzes, important and protected areas were identified and reported. It was decided to re-function the block in question as a restaurant where the dishes of the region will be kept alive. The original structure of the building has been designed according to the geographical and cultural values of the environment.
LOCAL
He sees this journey as an exploration of Iznik's food culture by the chefs who take their inspiration from the geography they live in. Gathering by the fire, being together with us; not afraid of it, taught us to "cook". Architectural Compatibility takes advantage of the symbols and materials commonly found in a typical village setting. The main visual feature of the space creates the cedar environment and traditional quarry, inspiring the local village house structures and quarry design. We also mentioned only materials that are durable and can be reused or recycled. All used furniture consists of recycled pallets, recycled timber and sustainable bamboo.
