FUNCTION: Adaptive Reuse

Within the scope of the 'Re-Functioning Project' of Iznik Municipality consisting of 4 blocks, a survey of the Iznik Public Library in the 4th block of the Municipality Konak Bazaar was received. Within the scope of the information obtained, the building technical drawings were completed.

A regional site plan was created with the plans provided. Damage detection complete. Users were interviewed. Building requirement list was created.

It was decided to retain the old function of the building. A new layout has been created for the structure, which will be used as a library, by taking user demands into consideration. In the new settlement plan, disabled transportation, child access and social distance rules were taken into consideration. The sound level that may occur in line with the researches conducted,
In line with access problems, the settlement was regionally separated.

In the interior, material selections were made so that the sound level was minimal. Sound insulation was provided. The walls present in the building also created openings according to the new settlement. The joinery was changed. Fire escape was provided. Stairs were created inside the building. Technical drawings and 3D
studies have been completed.
